Compared to other models like ChatGPT or Claude, Gemini 2.5 excels at thoughtful problem-solving. It may not have all the user features yet, like canvases or projects, but its brainpower is impressive.
Also—at least for now—it’s free to use on Google’s AI Studio. Just be cautious with what you input.

The truth is, there are a lot of models out there. Some are faster. Some think deeper. Some are better at images or writing. It’s confusing, even for pros.
“Everyone that’s ever named an AI model should be fired,” Evan Connell, Consulting Manager at SOLVD joked. “We should start over.”
But help is on the way. The next big model from OpenAI—GPT-5—is rumored to combine all the best parts into one smart assistant that just knows what you need.
