Setup Agentforce to Help with Forecasting

Trying to forecast your sales better? You’re not alone. Many businesses want a faster and easier way to predict revenue. That’s where Agentforce comes in.

In today’s post, we’ll explain how Agentforce can help with forecasting in Salesforce — and how you can set it up quickly.

Quick Recap: Forecasting Setup

First, Ben Fankhauser, Consultant at SOLVD, reminds us:

“Before Agentforce can help with forecasting, you need to turn on forecasting inside Salesforce.”

Here’s what was done first:

  • Go into Salesforce Setup.
  • Turn on Forecast Settings.
  • Set up your forecast hierarchy (who manages who).
  • Assign quotas for each salesperson.

How to Add Quotas

Next, Ben shows how to add quotas:

  • Go to Setup → Forecast Quotas.
  • Choose what you want to forecast (like Opportunity Amount).
  • Pick your time period (this month, this year, etc.).
  • Set a quota for each person.

Example:

  • Ben: $200,000
  • Elliot Executive: $150,000
  • Andrew Irwin: $50,000

Once the quotas are set, Salesforce will track progress for each person automatically.

How Agentforce Helps

Now, this is where Agentforce gets involved.

Ben Fankhauser, Consultant at SOLVD shares:

“Agentforce acts like your personal helper inside Salesforce. You can ask it questions about your forecasts.”

To make Agentforce help with forecasting, you need to:

  • Go to Setup → Agents → Default Agent.
  • Add the “Forecast Sales Revenue” topic from the Asset Library.
  • Activate the topic.

Now, your agent can answer basic questions about your forecasts.

For example, you can ask:

“Is Elliot Executive on track to hit his quota this month?”

And Agentforce will reply with a clear answer based on your live Salesforce data!

Limitations (and How to Improve It)

Right now, Agentforce can only give simple answers. If you ask more complex questions (like “What is Elliot’s best-case forecast?”), it might not know how to respond.

Ben Fankhauser, Consultant at SOLVD explains:

“Out of the box, Agentforce doesn’t create forecasts for you — but you can build custom automations to make it even smarter.”

You can add flows, Apex code, and custom actions to make Agentforce even more helpful for your team.

Testimonials

Our clients say

From my initial call with Spencer through project implementation with John and Evan, my experience with the SOLVD team was excellent. They were quick to understand our business needs, clear when explaining the reasoning behind proposed solutions, transparent when reporting on progress and timeline, and all around enjoyable to work with. Would highly recommend and looking forward to continue working with them in the future!

Veronica Wong Director of Operations at Pathstream

SOLVD was very straight forward with everything needed to complete the project. No surprises, no issues, and cost was aligned with the estimate. They made implementation easy and quick.

Matt Benzaquen Sr Manager, Sales Strategy at Instabug

As a rule, I'm pretty stingy with my recommendations. So it's a pleasure for me to recommend Solvd as a top-flight Salesforce consultancy. Solvd recently led our company's conversion to the Lightning interface and did it on time, on budget and made it easy for me and my team. I know I'll use their services again, and am confident they can do the same for you.
