How to set up ramp deals in RCA (Winter '26)

Are you struggling to manage complex multi-year deals that involve bundled products and usage-based items, particularly when it comes to group-level discounting in Salesforce Revenue Cloud? In this blog post, we will walk you through the essential steps to set up and utilize the new Ramp Deals for Groups feature introduced in the Winter ’26 release. This guide helps you optimize your Quote-to-Cash process by simplifying complex quotes through systematic configurations and workflows.

Enabling Necessary Settings

Before leveraging the grouping functionality, ensure that the following settings are enabled in Salesforce:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Revenue Settings
  2. Enable the following options:
  • Ramp deals for lines and quotes
  • Ramp deals for groups in quotes and orders
  • Groups in quotes and orders
  • Cloning for quotes and orders

These configurations lay the groundwork for utilizing group features effectively in your quotes and enable the full functionality of the Ramp Deals for Groups capability.

Configuring the Transaction Line Editor

Next, navigate to the Lightning App Builder for your Quote page:

  1. Go to Quote Line Items to access the Transaction Line Editor
  2. Ensure you are utilizing the Sales Transaction Line Editor, the new interface from Winter ’26. If you’re using the previous Transaction Line Editor, switch to the Sales Transaction Line Editor to leverage enhanced configuration options and improved user experience
  3. Select the display columns you want during setup. We recommend including fields such as:
  • Group Name
  • Product Name
  • Quantity
  • List Price
  • Discount
  • Net Unit Price
  • Start and end dates for both Quote Line Groups and Quote Lines

Proper column configuration ensures visibility into all critical elements of your ramp deals at both the group and line item level.

Setting Up Group Ramp Segment Information

After adding a group to your quote:

  1. Navigate to the group settings to configure your group ramp segment information:
  • Mark Group Ramp Segment as true
  • Choose your Segment Type (for instance, Yearly for annual ramp periods)

Note: You may encounter a validation error indicating missing information. Specifically, ensure your group start and end dates are populated to proceed with ramping configuration.

  1. Select the Start Date and End Date for the ramp group. These dates define the boundaries of your ramp segment and are required fields for proper ramp configuration
  2. After updating these fields, save the changes
  3. Refresh your page to confirm that the validation error is resolved and new options are displayed, such as:
  • Edit Ramp Schedules
  • Clone Segment

Cloning Ramp Segments

Now that you’ve established your first group with ramping capabilities:

  • Leverage the Clone Segment functionality to create additional ramp periods (for example, cloning for subsequent years in a multi-year deal)
  • This approach significantly reduces manual configuration time while maintaining consistency across ramp periods
  • You can adjust specific attributes like pricing, discounts, or quantities in each cloned segment while preserving the overall structure

Real-World Use Cases

This functionality proves particularly valuable in several common scenarios:

  • Enterprise software deals with graduated pricing across multiple years
  • Professional services engagements with phased resource ramp-ups
  • Hardware and maintenance bundles with different pricing schedules
  • Subscription products with promotional pricing that changes over contract periods

With these foundational configurations in place, you’re now equipped to handle sophisticated ramp deal scenarios in Revenue Cloud. Our clients say

From my initial call with Spencer through project implementation with John and Evan, my experience with the SOLVD team was excellent. They were quick to understand our business needs, clear when explaining the reasoning behind proposed solutions, transparent when reporting on progress and timeline, and all around enjoyable to work with. Would highly recommend and looking forward to continue working with them in the future!

SOLVD was very straight forward with everything needed to complete the project. No surprises, no issues, and cost was aligned with the estimate. They made implementation easy and quick.

Matt Benzaquen Sr Manager, Sales Strategy at Instabug

As a rule, I'm pretty stingy with my recommendations. So it's a pleasure for me to recommend Solvd as a top-flight Salesforce consultancy. Solvd recently led our company's conversion to the Lightning interface and did it on time, on budget and made it easy for me and my team. I know I'll use their services again, and am confident they can do the same for you.
