How to Map from Order Product > Asset in Revenue Cloud

If your business uses Salesforce Revenue Cloud, you probably want your product details to stay accurate all the way from quotes to orders to assets. Good news — this is possible with a simple tool called “mapping.”

In this guide, we’ll explain how to connect information from the Order Product to the Asset using Salesforce. This means details like “Installation Date” can flow automatically from the start of a sale to the final asset created.

Step 1: Set Up Your Fields

First, make sure the fields you want to pass from the Order Product to the Asset exist. In this example, we’re using Installation Date. But it could be any important detail for your business.

“You don’t even need the API names to match between fields — Salesforce lets you map them anyway,” said Jared Christensen, SOLVD Consultant.

Step 2: Map Order Product to Sales Transaction Item

In Salesforce, go into your Sales Transaction Context Definition and set up the mapping from Order Product to Sales Transaction Item. This is where Salesforce will start passing the field data.

Step 3: Map Sales Transaction Item to Asset Action Source

Next, set up the mapping from Sales Transaction Item to Asset Action Source. This is a key step so the data keeps flowing.

Step 4: Map Asset Action Source to Asset

Finally, map from Asset Action Source to Asset. This completes the connection, so your data moves from Order Product all the way to the Asset without anyone needing to retype it.
