How do I initially configure a Revenue Cloud Org?

Setting up Salesforce Revenue Cloud might seem hard, but it does not have to be. When set up correctly, it helps businesses handle prices, sales, and products automatically. This guide will show you the basic steps to get started.

Step 1: Turn On Context Service

Context Service helps with automation, so you don’t have to do everything manually. To turn it on:

  • Go to Setup
  • Search for Context Service Settings
  • Click to turn it On

To let your team use this, give them permissions:

  • Context Service Admin – Lets admins control all settings
  • Context Service Runtime – Gives users access to data

This feature helps you adjust prices and rules automatically, so you save time.

Step 2: Enable Product Discovery

Product Discovery helps sales teams find the right products with the correct prices. To set it up:

  • Go to Setup
  • Search for Product Discovery Settings
  • Check the settings and update them if needed

To use these features, assign permissions:

  • Salesforce Pricing Design Time – Lets users create price rules
  • Salesforce Pricing Runtime – Allows users to see product prices

Step 3: Set Up Sales Tracking

Sales Transactions help track revenue and orders. To set this up:

  1. Go to Setup
  2. Search for Salesforce Pricing Settings
  3. Click to turn it On

This helps keep quotes, orders, and pricing connected. If prices change, update the settings to keep everything running smoothly.

Step 4: Check Important Settings

Before finishing, check these settings:

  • Revenue Settings – Turns on Revenue Cloud features (can’t be undone once activated)
  • Product Catalog Management – Helps organize products
  • Salesforce Pricing Recipes – Controls price rules and updates
