EMPLOYEE FEATURE

EVAN CONNELL | SR. SALESFORCE CONSULTANT

What is your favorite thing about Salesforce?

Coming from a developer background, I appreciate that almost anything can be built on top of Salesforce. I like building cool things, and working with such an extensible platform gives me the opportunity to do that.

What client project have you worked on that you are most proud of?

There was a time when a client needed their Account Managers to be able to send a form to their customers using a specific third-party tool to collect information, signatures, and payment. Because of PCI compliance restrictions, and limitations with the tool there was a moment when I thought it wasn’t going to be possible without the client incurring extra costs from the webform provider. We continued to brainstorm and ended up identifying a path forward using a couple of different tools the client was already paying for, and it worked really well. All completed projects are satisfying, but testing that process and watching it work seamlessly in a way that would be intuitive for their Account Managers and their Customers was particularly fun for me.

What has your experience been with our company culture?

I love the collaborative atmosphere. I feel very much like everyone at the company wants me and my projects to succeed, which goes a long way.

What is your team like?

My team is the most recently added team at the company and we have a lot of fun. It’s always really nice to be able to interact with a team of highly competent individuals who can offer help and solutions, while also being fun and uplifting to be around. That camaraderie contributes a lot to my day.

What are some things you’ve noticed about our leadership team?

Everyone on the leadership team is remarkably well versed on and off the Salesforce platform, and very generous with their time when necessary. The combination of those two qualities gives me access to a wealth of knowledge and experience, both in the things that pertain to my job and my clients, and also my life outside of work.

What have been your biggest accomplishments on our team?

I’m proud of the work I have done for clients and the help I’ve been able to provide to other consultants. There are a few projects that stand out with challenging problems that I was able to solve. Without taking too much credit here, I also feel proud of the way SOLVD has grown during the time I’ve worked here. To be one part of the larger culture that continues to develop is exciting to me.

Who are some of your biggest inspirations within the company?

While I’ve been inspired by everyone at the company at times, Spencer Lowe and John Turner stand out as particularly inspiring. Working with Spencer has taught me so much about a wide range of topics from consulting best practices to personal finance and investment strategies. I come away from every interaction having learned something. John is the same way. With him, I’ve had more opportunities to dissect specific problems and design solutions. My skills as a designer and an executor have grown immensely by working so closely with someone who brings excellence to everything he does.

What kinds of resources have you taken advantage of while on our team?

I’ve definitely taken advantage of the certification reimbursement program. To be able to take these expensive certification tests for free has been huge in removing what would have otherwise been an intimidating barrier to working on my skills as a consultant.

Which benefits are your favorite and why?

I love the mandatory time-off policy. I have a hard time taking time off, even when I know I need it, so to be able to take those couple days during the month, guilt-free means a lot for my personal health and my family life.

What’s the most unique part about working here?

Honestly, the mind-boggling part to me is how much I feel the management cares about me as an individual. I’ve worked at a lot of good companies. At each of those companies, I liked my managers, but at the end of the day, I knew I was a cog in the machine and that was okay. At SOLVD I feel like so much more than a cog in the machine. There have been many instances where I’ve been surprised by the amount of above and beyond care and investment that has been put into me and my family. I feel like the team here wants me to be more than just successful at work. I really get the feeling that my happiness as an individual is a priority.

How have you grown professionally while on our team?

Salesforce is the kind of platform where you can learn something new every day and never run out of things to learn. I’ve grown daily in my domain knowledge and understanding, and overtime I’ve grown in my ability to design good solutions, manage complex projects, communicate well with clients, and delegate tasks effectively. I still have plenty of room for growth in these areas, but all of the skills I’m learning are invaluable, on and off the salesforce platform.

Testimonials

Our clients say

From my initial call with Spencer through project implementation with John and Evan, my experience with the SOLVD team was excellent. They were quick to understand our business needs, clear when explaining the reasoning behind proposed solutions, transparent when reporting on progress and timeline, and all around enjoyable to work with. Would highly recommend and looking forward to continue working with them in the future!

Veronica Wong Director of Operations at Pathstream

SOLVD was very straight forward with everything needed to complete the project. No surprises, no issues, and cost was aligned with the estimate. They made implementation easy and quick.

Matt Benzaquen Sr Manager, Sales Strategy at Instabug

As a rule, I'm pretty stingy with my recommendations. So it's a pleasure for me to recommend Solvd as a top-flight Salesforce consultancy. Solvd recently led our company's conversion to the Lightning interface and did it on time, on budget and made it easy for me and my team. I know I'll use their services again, and am confident they can do the same for you.
