MEET BRENDAN

For the last two years, Brendan has been gaining professional Salesforce consulting experience all while working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems from Brigham Young University. Brendan’s favorite thing about what he does at SOLVD is finding solutions that end up being a major benefit to the clients he works with. He loves that every day is different and that he gets to work with really incredible clients in a variety of industries. In his free time, he loves spending time playing basketball, pickleball, and bass fishing.

What is your favorite thing about Salesforce?

My favorite thing about Salesforce is that it is such a powerful tool. The capabilities of Salesforce seem to be endless which is exciting for multiple reasons. It is easier to please clients with a tool that can capably handle almost any request or desired function they may have. Also, learning all the aspects of Salesforce is an amazing challenge that keeps me motivated every day.

What client project have you worked on that you are most proud of?

I would have to say that I am most proud of the work that I was able to do for Associated Volume Buyers (AVB). There were a lot of complicated designs and automation that we were able to create for them to meet their needs. We even got to integrate and do some fun configuration of Formstack.

What has your experience been with our company culture?

I have never worked at a company that came even close to SOLVD in terms of culture. It is tough to explain. I feel like every day I get to work with my best friends. The team is so supportive and they help challenge me to be better through their own amazing performance. It is a culture where excuses are not tolerated and learning is promoted. Management is accessible and in touch with each of the members of their team. The team is put first in all situations but the individual is still rewarded for good performance. I wouldn’t change anything about SOLVD’s culture.

What is your team like?

My team is great! Jonathan Peckham is an amazing manager that helps me weekly and is very aware of how I am doing. There is a lot of trust between team members and we often help each other out with snags as well as time-sensitive work. Overall, our team is a joy to be a part of with a strong commitment to the company values.

What are some things you’ve noticed about our leadership team?

The leadership team at SOLVD is made up of extremely talented individuals that care a ton about SOLVD and all those that work at SOLVD. Despite being busy all of the time, the members of the leadership team do a fantastic job of making themselves readily available to help out the members of their team. They are aware of what is going on with each member of their team and offer great advice and feedback whenever they can. They are held to the same standards and commitments that we all work by and it is super obvious that they want the team to succeed.

What have been your biggest accomplishments on our team?

One of my biggest accomplishments on the SOLVD team is helping my teammates. I have been able to progress in my Salesforce knowledge so much over the course of my time here at SOLVD. This has helped me to get to a position where I can coach and assist some of my teammates on a regular basis. I consider this one of my biggest accomplishments because it is a successful pattern. Being able to learn something from someone else, practice it, and then teach someone else is a great skill to have and I’m happy that it is something I have been able to do here at SOLVD.

Who are some of your biggest inspirations within the company?

Derik and Spencer, among others, are two of my biggest inspirations here at SOLVD. Spencer is a great example of proactivity and work ethic. Knowing his story and all that he did to get himself and SOLVD to where they are today is truly inspiring. Derik has been an incredible mentor to me. I have had the opportunity to shadow him in many different settings and learn from his wide array of consulting skills. He is an amazing manager that shows his team how much he cares, even when he is extremely busy. In addition, he is an expert at giving direct, constructive feedback that helps his teammates to grow and learn.

What kinds of resources have you taken advantage of while on our team?

The number one resource I have taken advantage of while on the SOLVD team is the knowledge and experience of my teammates. I have learned so much about Salesforce, consulting, and life from the experienced members of the SOLVD team. I value greatly everything that I have been able to learn from them and hope to continue learning more.

Which benefits are your favorite and why?

My favorite benefits are the weekly team lunches and quarterly team activities. I enjoy being around the people that work at SOLVD so much. Team lunches and team activities are a super fun chance to interact with them outside of the normal work environment.

What’s the most unique part about working here?

One of the most unique aspects of working at SOLVD is the collaborative working style. Every single day I get to work with teammates to come up with clever solutions/designs and overcome tricky roadblocks. This is one of the benefits of working at SOLVD and it has helped us as teammates to build great relationships of trust.

How have you grown professionally while on our team?

While working at SOLVD, I have progressed and grown so much. I have sharpened my skills as a project manager and communicator. I have learned how to investigate, research, and learn new challenging things. Most of all, I have learned foundational skills and habits that have helped me to be more successful in my professional and personal lives.
