MEET BEN F

Ben F. is from Cottonwood Heights, UT. He has been a Salesforce Consultant for 2 1/2 years and holds three Salesforce certifications: Admin, App Builder, and Sales Cloud. He also has experience with Microsoft Office, Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Ben loves being a Salesforce consultant because it allows him to leverage his technical skills and problem-solving abilities to help organizations optimize their business processes. He enjoys the challenge of customizing Salesforce to meet unique client needs and the satisfaction of seeing tangible improvements in their operations. Additionally, he appreciates the dynamic nature of the role, which keeps him engaged with continuous learning and innovation. In his free time, Ben likes to stay active by playing sports, mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and traveling to new places. He is also bilingual, and speaks both English and Spanish.

What is your favorite thing about Salesforce?

My favorite thing about Salesforce is how versatile it is. Salesforce is a fully loaded CRM software that can help any business organize its data in a way that will improve their processes and profitability.

What client project have you worked on that you are most proud of?

I am currently working on an innovative case management system that uses criteria and automation to cut a company’s support time down by 40%.

What has your experience been with our company culture?

I find the culture of the company super enticing. The company is filled to the brim with highly skilled, motivated, and ambitious individuals that all work together as a team. I love how I can call upon anyone to help me with anything related to work or even my personal life if necessary.

What is your team like?

My team is super helpful and filled with individuals with unique talents, interests, and hobbies. Above all, my team is easy to get along with and extremely capable at what they do at SOLVD.

What are some things you’ve noticed about our leadership team?

I have noticed that they are extremely invested in the success of each employee at SOLVD. They go above and beyond to teach, mentor, and motivate each employee. Not only are they interested in my career development, but they are also interested in my personal life.

What have been your biggest accomplishments on our team?

I think the biggest accomplishment I have had is learning a new feature request for a client that no one at our company had experience with. After learning the tool, I was able to do a successful implementation in Japanese, a language I do not speak.

Who are some of your biggest inspirations within the company?

I think Matt Brown is one of my biggest inspirations. He was my adjunct professor at BYU and is my current manager. He has a way viewing things in a positive light while also motivating others to be better. He is approachable and a wonderful mentor. In addition to Matt, I am inspired by Spencer and his drive to improve and grow. His thoughts are insightful and incredibly motivating.

What kinds of resources have you taken advantage of while on our team?

I have taken advantage of the leadership team’s office hours and find them very useful when I am stuck on a problem. I also feel like I have taken advantage of the Slack channels. Many of the slack channels are meant for learning and development and I make an effort to be up to date on all of them.

Which benefits are your favorite and why?

I think the Friday lunches are my favorite. Who doesn’t like good company and good food? That and I am also a poor college student so that is one less meal I have to worry about each week.

What’s the most unique part about working here?

The most unique thing about SOLVD is that it is a rapidly growing startup that is built mostly on BYU IS graduates. As a result, there is a pretty unique culture and shared identity.

How have you grown professionally while on our team?

In this short time with the company, I believe I have become a more efficient learner. I think I am grasping concepts much quicker than I have in the past. I also think that I have improved my communication skills. I feel like I am now a lot better at sharing only the necessary details for tasks or work to be done. I believe this has resulted in less wasted time and an increase in efficiency.
