Before, Salesforce didn’t let you report on emails and events captured by Einstein Activity Capture. Those activities weren’t stored like normal records, which made reporting difficult.
But now, thanks to the Salesforce Spring 2024 release, that’s changed!
Einstein Activity Capture is a Salesforce tool that connects your email and calendar (like Gmail or Outlook) to Salesforce. It automatically brings emails and meetings into your CRM. This makes it easy to see all your communication without extra work.
“As you’re having email communication with somebody, Salesforce will automatically pull that in,” Brendan Lowe, Consultant at SOLVD shares.
If you want to report on activities captured by Einstein, here’s what you need to do:

“Once you’ve toggled that, all of your new activities that come in will be accessible through reports.”
Important: This change only applies to new activities going forward. Past activities won’t show up automatically.
When creating a new report, look for Unified Activities. This special report type pulls together:
You can tie these activities to standard Salesforce records like Opportunities, Leads, Accounts, and Contacts. This helps you see all your interactions in one place.
Before this update, you only had one dashboard with limited options. Now, you can fully customize your reports, track email and event activities, and get better insights into your customer relationships.
