AI Webinar 1: How can my company use AI safely?

AI is changing the way businesses work. It can help with repetitive tasks, customer service, and decision-making. But many companies worry about privacy, security, and mistakes when using AI.

In this webinar, Evan Connell, SOLVD Consultant Manager, shares how businesses can use AI without risks.

Why Businesses Are Worried About AI

Companies want to use AI, but they are afraid of:

  1. AI remembering private data and sharing it with others.
  2. Keeping company information safe from security risks.
  3. AI making mistakes and giving wrong answers.

“The number one question we get is: How can my company use AI safely?” – Evan Connell, SOLVD Consultant Manager

Three Ways to Use AI Safely

1. Stop AI From Storing Private Data

Some AI tools remember conversations and use them for training. Businesses need to control what AI learns to keep their information safe.

How to fix this:

  • Choose safe AI tools – Some AI tools, like Anthropic’s Claude, do not store user chats.
  • Turn off data sharing – In ChatGPT, you can disable chat history so AI does not remember past conversations.
  • Use private AI models – Companies can run AI on their own systems instead of using public tools.

“You want to make sure AI doesn’t remember private company information and share it with others.” – Evan Connell, SOLVD Consultant Manager

2. Keep AI Secure

Industries like finance and healthcare have strict rules for keeping customer data safe. AI can still be used, but it needs extra security steps.

Ways to protect company data:

  • Use private AI models – Companies can download AI and run it internally.
  • Add security layers – Tools like Salesforce Einstein Trust can remove private details before AI sees them.

“You can set up AI to work inside your company without exposing any private data.” – Evan Connell, SOLVD Consultant Manager

3. Make Sure AI Gives Correct Answers

AI does not always get things right. It might make up information or give unclear answers.

Ways to reduce mistakes:

  • Use AI for support, not as the final answer – Humans should double-check AI responses.
  • Connect AI to trusted data – AI should only use information from company-approved sources.
  • Test AI often – Regular checks make sure AI is working correctly.

How to Use AI the Right Way

Businesses can use AI without worrying by following these simple steps:

  1. Choose AI tools carefully – Pick AI that does not store or share data.
  2. Use private AI when possible – Running AI on company systems keeps data safe.
  3. Turn on security settings – Some AI tools let you control what they remember.
  4. Always review AI results – Human oversight makes AI safer and more reliable.

As a rule, I'm pretty stingy with my recommendations. So it's a pleasure for me to recommend Solvd as a top-flight Salesforce consultancy. Solvd recently led our company's conversion to the Lightning interface and did it on time, on budget and made it easy for me and my team. I know I'll use their services again, and am confident they can do the same for you.
