In Salesforce’s AgentForce—now known as the Lead Nurturing for Modularity template—adding a human touch to those first touchpoints can make the difference between being ignored and sparking a meaningful conversation. Here’s a straightforward, five-minute way to upgrade your SDR agent’s emails for personalized, authentic engagement.
Start by making a minor but impactful adjustment to your Lead object: add a long text area field labeled SDR Agent Context. Use this field to log important information about how you encountered a lead—whether you met them at a conference, got a referral, or had a memorable conversation.
For example, you might enter:
Met at San Francisco Sales trade show in November 2025.
This context lays the groundwork for more tailored messaging later in the process.
A key differentiator is prerequisite logic: for example, if a financial summary is required before sending a confirmation email, Action Plans enforce this order. This ensures steps are followed rigorously with zero guesswork.
Next, navigate to your agent’s “initial outreach” topic within AgentForce. Here, add a custom instruction instructing the agent to reference the new context field:

Make sure to reference the SDR Agent Context field for key information about how this prospect was met. The initial outreach email must utilize this information in the body—always state where we met the prospect if that information is included. Any supporting info must be subtly referenced, but shouldn’t distract from the email’s purpose.
This approach ensures every outreach feels attentive and specific.
One critical technical step: make sure the agent is permitted to retrieve the new context field during its data “get record detail” action. By editing the standard instruction, ensure the new field is pulled in so the agent has access to it for composing personalized emails.
