How long does migrating from Salesforce CPQ to Revenue Cloud take in 2026?

Salesforce has never published a duration for a CPQ to Revenue Cloud migration, and no partner can quote one sight unseen: the clock is set by how much of your quoting, pricing and billing logic has to be rebuilt rather than moved. What can be dated is everything around the move. Salesforce stopped selling CPQ to new customers in March 2025, has announced no end-of-life date, and put two milestones on the 2026 calendar — a Winter '27 release on October 12, 2026 that ships new quoting features only in Revenue Cloud, and a CPQ migration assistant announced at Dreamforce 2026 with a December 2026 target.

Before the migration work starts, most teams need the target org ready; our walkthrough of how to initially configure a Revenue Cloud org covers that groundwork.

TL;DR

  • Salesforce has announced no CPQ end-of-life date and no published migration duration.
  • CPQ end of sale began in March 2025; existing customers can still renew and add users.
  • Winter '27 (October 12, 2026) ships new quoting features in Revenue Cloud only.
  • A CPQ migration assistant is on the roadmap for December 2026 — announced, not released.
  • Duration is driven by pricing logic, contracts and billing data, not license changes.

How long does migrating from Salesforce CPQ to Revenue Cloud take in 2026?

The honest answer is that Salesforce has never committed to a number, and the orgs asking the question carry wildly different amounts of CPQ configuration. A storefront selling three subscription products and an industrial distributor with hundreds of price rules, product rules and custom code are both "migrating from CPQ", and they do not share a calendar.

What Salesforce has published are the dates that shape the decision. Here is the full dated record:

| Date | What changed |

|---|---|

| March 2025 | End of sale: CPQ stopped being sold to new customers |

| July 10, 2026 | Salesforce published its definitive end-of-sale article and retired online CPQ documentation in favor of a single PDF (KB 005388761) |

| September 14, 2026 | The Revenue Cloud name was restored (the product had been sold as Agentforce Revenue Management from October 2025) |

| October 12, 2026 | Winter '27 release: new quoting for buyers, partners and renewals ships in Revenue Cloud, not in CPQ |

| December 2026 (target) | CPQ migration assistant, announced at Dreamforce 2026 — a roadmap date, not yet released |

| Not announced | Any end-of-life or forced-cutover date |

Every row except the last is verifiable in Salesforce announcements or the published end-of-sale timelines assembled by partners such as Kugamon. The last row is the one that changes how you plan: because there is no end-of-life date, the migration clock is yours to set.

What actually sets the duration

Since Salesforce publishes no timeline, the variables below are what scoping conversations turn on. None of them is a license question — the license change takes minutes:

  • Pricing logic. CPQ price rules, price actions, discount schedules and subscription products have no one-to-one equivalent; they are re-expressed in Revenue Cloud's product catalog and pricing structures. Every rule that was configured by hand has to be redesigned, tested and signed off.
  • Product rules and templates. Bundled configurations, option constraints and quote document templates get rebuilt in the new configurator.
  • Contracts, assets and billing data. Active contracts, subscription assets and billing schedules must carry across without breaking renewals or in-flight orders.
  • Integrations. ERP, payment and provisioning connections that call CPQ objects get re-pointed to the new data model.
  • Parallel running. Noltic's 2026 Revenue Cloud guide recommends a phased migration in which Salesforce CPQ and Revenue Cloud run in parallel before full adoption. That adds deliberate overlap to the calendar in exchange for a lower-risk cutover.

Two orgs with the same user count can differ by an order of magnitude on every one of these lines, which is why no duration table belongs on this page.

The migration assistant changes the work, not yet the calendar

At Dreamforce 2026, Salesforce announced a migration assistant that moves the CPQ managed package to Revenue Cloud with configuration included. It sits on the roadmap for December 2026 — announced, not released.

Until it ships, nobody outside Salesforce can say what it migrates automatically and what still needs review. Treat it as a reason to sequence your project around it, not to wait indefinitely: if it lands in December as targeted, teams that have already inventoried their CPQ estate will know exactly which rules to feed it first.

Why teams are planning now even though CPQ still runs

The renewal path stays open: existing customers can renew CPQ licenses, add users, and receive support and critical fixes. Salesforce has pointed to its product retirement philosophy rather than a date, and partner commentary projecting a 2029–2030 retirement window is informed speculation, not an announcement.

The reason to plan now is drift. New feature investment lands only in Revenue Cloud — the Winter '27 quoting features released October 12, 2026 are the clearest example — so every quarter on CPQ is a quarter of features your quoting process cannot adopt. CloudMasonry's July 2026 analysis puts it plainly: start migration planning now, even if the move itself is a year or two away.

What a migration project involves

Partner-scoped projects differ, but the sequencing below is the shape most follow. It is an order of operations, not a promise of dates:

  • Inventory the CPQ estate. Price rules, product rules, templates, custom Apex, integrations and the data they touch.
  • Rebuild the catalog in Revenue Cloud. Products, bundles and the configurator experience, mapped from the CPQ setup.
  • Map the pricing logic. Translate price rules and discount schedules into Revenue Cloud pricing, and decide what dies rather than carries over.
  • Migrate the revenue data. Contracts, assets, billing schedules and open quotes, with renewals the first thing tested.
  • Repoint integrations. ERP, payments and provisioning against the new objects.
  • Run in parallel, then cut over. Phased adoption per the guidance above, with a checkpoint where the two systems must agree.

Where the rebuilt catalog has to enforce rules the CPQ package used to enforce, Revenue Cloud's constraint model takes over — see our guide to setting up a constraint model in Revenue Cloud.

Related questions

Is Salesforce CPQ being retired?

No end-of-life date has been announced. CPQ entered end of sale in March 2025, so new customers cannot buy it, but existing customers can renew, add users and keep receiving support and critical fixes.

Can you run Salesforce CPQ and Revenue Cloud at the same time?

Yes, and a phased parallel run is the approach third-party migration guidance recommends. Salesforce has announced no forced cutover and no date after which CPQ stops working.

Should you wait for the Salesforce migration assistant?

It is a December 2026 roadmap item announced at Dreamforce 2026, not a released product. Planning your estate inventory now costs nothing and is exactly what the assistant will need as input.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a CPQ to Revenue Cloud migration take?

Salesforce has never published a duration, and the range depends on how much pricing logic, configuration and revenue data has to be rebuilt. Scoped projects are quoted by partners after an estate inventory.

No. CPQ entered end of sale in March 2025, and Salesforce has announced no end-of-life date. Existing customers can renew, add users and receive support.

When did Salesforce stop selling CPQ?

March 2025. New customers are directed to Revenue Cloud, which Salesforce restored as a product name on September 14, 2026 after selling it as Agentforce Revenue Management.

What is the Salesforce CPQ migration assistant?

A tool announced at Dreamforce 2026 that moves the CPQ managed package to Revenue Cloud with configuration included. It targets December 2026 on the roadmap and has not been released.

Can CPQ and Revenue Cloud run in parallel?

Yes. Third-party migration guidance, including Noltic's 2026 Revenue Cloud guide, recommends a phased migration where both run in parallel before full adoption.

What happens to CPQ support and renewals?

Existing customers continue to receive renewals, user additions, support and critical fixes. Only new sales have stopped.

What shipped in the Winter '27 release for quoting?

The October 12, 2026 Winter '27 release added new quoting for buyers, partners and renewals in Revenue Cloud only — nothing equivalent shipped in CPQ.
