What is the process for updating or modifying an agent's capabilities

AgentForce is a tool in Salesforce that helps businesses with tasks. Sometimes, you need to change what your agent can do. Here’s how.

What Can You Change?

You can update two things:

  • Topics –
    “A topic is something that you can assign to your agents so that they know what type of conversation they can be having with their end users.” – Josh Kartchner, Consultant at SOLVD.cloud.
  • Actions – These are jobs the agent can do, like finding information or updating records.

How to Update an Agent

Follow these steps:

  • Go to Settings – In Salesforce, search for “Einstein Generative AI” and click “Agents.”
  • Pick an Agent – Choose the agent you want to change.
  • Edit Topics – Click “Open in Builder” to add or change topics.
  • Update Actions – Add or change the tasks the agent can do.
  • Save and Test – Make sure everything works.

Important Things to Know

Here are some key points:

  • Turn Off the Agent First –

  • Track Changes – Salesforce saves old versions so you can go back if needed.
  • Plan for Downtime – Turning off the agent may pause conversations.
